2022 Marching Band Seniors Recognized at Senior Night

Band and family members introduced to appreciative Cobleigh Stadium crowd

Harrison Bands marching band seniors were recognized at the annual Senior Night during halftime of the Harrison-Hillgrove football game on Oct. 21.

A total of 24 band program members, escorted by family members, were introduced to the halftime crowd in a long-standing Harrison High School tradition. Prior to the game, band members and their families were hosted at a reception by the Harrison High Band Boosters.

Seniors and family members participating included:

  • Benjamin Abernathy, escorted by Kendra and Tom Abernathy.  He has been a member of the Harrison Marching Band for 4 years.
  • Julian Adams, escorted by parents Maria and Thomas Adams.  He has participated in band for 4 years and plans to attend Kennesaw State University in the fall.
  • Carl Anderson, escorted by parents Pat and Marty Anderson.  He has been a member of both Marching Band and Jazz Band for over 4 years and plans to attend college to student electrical engineering.
  • Mark Benvenuto, escorted by parents Eric and Megan Benvenuto.  Mark has been a member of Harrison marching band for 4 years and plans to attend Purdue University and major in Aerospace engineering.
  • Jamie Brogden, escorted by parents Christi and Jim Brogden.  Jamie has been a four-year member and section leader in marching band.  He has a 4.2 GPA and plans to major in finance in the fall.
  • Sean Cauffiel, escorted by parents David and Collen Cauffiel.  Sean has been a member of band for 4 years and is also an Eagle Scout.  Sean plans to attend Kennesaw State University to major in Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Karl Christiansen, escorted by Jon and Rita Christiansen.  Karl has been a member of band for 4 years and plans to major in criminal justice or music education.
  • Ainsley Collier, escorted by Lawrence and Allegra Collier.  Ainsley has been a member of marching band for 4 years here at Harrison.  She has a 4.22 GPA and plans to major in music education.
  • Haleigh Dyer, escorted by her mother Anna Bailey.  Haleigh has been a member of marching band for 4 years and plans to attend the University of West Georgia to major in film.
  • Magdalene Forester, escorted by Lawrence and Rebecca Forester.  Magdalene has been a member of Marching Band for 4 years.
  • Grayson Foxworth, escorted by his parents Clay and Kimberly Foxworth, and his siblings Grant and Kayley.  Grayson has been in band for 4 years and plans to attend Wiregrass technical college to major in Fire Science.
  • Sierra Glosson, escorted by her mother Ildiko Nagy.  During her 4 years she has been a member of marching band, indoor percussion, and jazz band.  Sierra plans to study music history in college.
  • Max Goldman, escorted by his parents Brian and Meredith Goldman.  Max has been a band member for 4 years and plans to attend college majoring in his family’s passions of psychology or history.
  • Katherine Gurno, escorted by Bill and Anna Gurno.  Katherine has been a member of both marching Band and HIPE during her tenure at Harrison.  She has a 4.25 GPA and plans to attend Kennesaw State to major in cyber security.
  • Wayne Hodgson, escorted by his mother Gina Hurt.  Wayne has been a member of marching band and jazz band during his time at Harrison.  He has a 3.6 GPA and plans to attend Kennesaw State University to major in information systems and continue his music career.
  • Eli Landeche, escorted by his parents Glenda and Dean Landeche.  Eli has been a member of marching and jazz band for 4 years.  He plans to attend college in the fall and major in engineering or business.
  • Dawson McGregor, escorted by his parents Allen and Kristin McGregor.  He has been a member of the band, wrestling team, Beta club, and captain of the E-sports club.  He currently has a 4.2 GPA and plans to attend UGA and major in Pre-Med.
  • Owen Randall, escorted by his parents Janet and Scott Randall.  Owen has been a member of the band for 4 years.  He currently has a 4.417 GPA and plans to major in biology in the fall.
  • Ben Schneide, escorted by Mike and Jan Schneider.  Ben has been a member of marching band for the past 4 years where he has served as first lieutenant and section leader.  He currently has a 4.0 GPA and plans to attend Auburn University to pursue veterinary medicine or fire science.
  • Charles Sweetman, escorted by his mother Allison Sweetman.  Charles has been a member of the marching band for 3 years and recently completed his eagle scout project to assist its efforts.  He hopes to attend Princeton University to major in engineering.
  • Vivienne Syken, escorted by her parents Melissa Ward and Seth Syken.  Vivienne has been a member of the band for 4 years where she served as a member of the uniform team.  She is also a member of the math team.  She plans to major in psychiatry in college.
  • Jack Taylor, escorted by parents Matt and Jennifer Taylor.  Jack has been a member of marching band for 4 years and currently has a GPA of 4.0
  • Josh Vann, escorted by David and Karen Vann.  Josh has been a member of the marching band for 4 years and is also a member of the indoor percussion ensemble.  Josh is also an eagle scout and plans to attend Purdue University and major in turf management.
  • Patrick Wilkinson, escorted by Jolynn and Dean Wilkinson.  Patrick has been a member of the marching band at Harrison for 4 years.

At halftime, seniors marched their final performance at Cobleigh Stadium, performing the 2022 competition show, Midnight in Gotham. Seniors marched without their shakos in the performance.

The 2022 Senior Class represented nearly 100 years of cumulative marching experience for the band. Those who marched for all four years participated in the Bands of America Grand National competition in Indianapolis, IN, and will have participated in four Band of American regional competitions. Seniors will end their marching careers with a final trip to Bands of America regionals at Jacksonville State University, then leading a parade through Disney’s Magic Kingdom on Nov. 6.
