Corey Hawkins Joins Harrison as Guard Coordinator

Harrison Bands is proud to announce Corey Hawkins as our new Color Guard and Winter Guard Coordinator.

Corey is a native of Maryland where he was born and raised until he moved to Marietta when he was 10 years old. He started his marching band career in 2003, at Marietta High School, and was a part of the Blue Devil Marching Band. He began as a percussionist, marching bass drum until he graduated in 2006. He attended Jacksonville State University from 2006-2011, and was a member of the Marching Southerners’ Color Guard beginning in 2008. In 2011, Corey marched with Atlanta CorpsVets Drum Corps, and was a primary weapon. He has also marched with many Winter Guard organizations, competing in both the SAPA and WGI circuits. Corey was a member of the Calico Winter Guard (07-08) as well as Atlanta CorpsVets Winter Guard (09). He also went on and performed with Paramount World Winter Guard (12-13). 

Corey Hawkins joins Harrison Bands as Guard Coordinator.

He has enjoyed a successful teaching career in the Marching Arts, coordinating and directing many programs in the Atlanta Metro area.  He directed the Douglas County HS Colorguard from 2011-2016, Carrollton HS from 2016-2018, Woodland HS from 2021-2022, and Reverie “A” from 2018-2022. 

He is currently the Director of his very own independent winter guard, Noir Independent. 

He has worked with North Cobb HS, Roswell HS, Allatoona HS, Paulding County HS, Lithia Springs HS, Mt. Zion HS, New Manchester HS, McEachern HS, Wheeler HS, South Forsyth HS, Chattahoochee HS, Marietta HS, North Gwinnett HS, and Villa Rica HS. 

He looks forward to continuing the education of his students while sharing his passion for the marching arts with this outstanding program, and is excited for the future with the Harrison Hoyas!
