Winter Extravaganza Features Holiday Music and More

Harrison Bands joined other performing ensembles of the Harrison High School Fine Arts department for an evening of holiday music, frivolity and art displays in the annual Winter Extravaganza at the Hoya Center on Dec. 8.

The combined performance included music featuring Harrison Bands, Orchestra, and Chorus, a holiday theatre segment featuring theatre students, and a display of student art.

Music included “It’s a Holiday Season” and “A Holiday Sing-Along” by the Concert Ensemble, followed by a selection of holiday favorites and music from the movie “Polar Express by the Symphonic Ensemble. The Harrison Philharmonic closed the evening’s musical performances with a trio of holiday songs: “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas,” “Do You Hear What I Hear,” and “A Christmas Festival.”

The theatre spotlight included a two-part performance of a short comedy, “Yours Truly, Jack Frost.”

Prior to a following the concerts, art developed by Harrison students was on display in the Hoya Center foyer.

The Harrison Percussion Ensemble will perform in concert at the Harrison Performing Arts Center on December 13, 2022.

Music and singing was accentuated by festive holiday wear.
